We had a WLAN installed in our home so that it would convenient for us to use the internet at the same time. I was very, very, happy when it started to work. I can surf sites privately even at the corner of my bed. :)) And, I could actually bring Joddy anywhere I want and still be connected.
However, this ‘connected’ thingy seemed to have backfired. I, my brother and sister can all be online at the same time. They can read my status messages, see my pictures, etc. They even click on my links. (Of course, I can set my meesenger to be invisible to them, but I won’t. Haha.) And before, I can ignore it when my mom calls me from another part of the house for errands. Now I can’t:

Waaah! Argh. ♥

We started reporting our ‘findings’ to Dr. Escaner today, and I was surprised that it went well. Basically, it was because I understood only about 54.77% of what I’m talking about. :)) But I was able to defend most arguments intuitively, although my performance fluctuated when the actual mathematics came into discussion. (Just because I forgot some formulas from Math 162.) It still ended okay. :))
I had a typo in my presentation. Instead of Stochastic Interest Rate, I put Scholastic Interest Rates. Sir Joma was laughing for like 30 seconds. :)) Sorry. :)) More than that, the most memorable thing I learned from the first installment of this research was the meaning of the term almost surely in Mathematics. According to what I’ve read:
The difference between an event being almost sure and sure is the same as the subtle difference between something happening with probability 1 and happening always. If an event is sure, then it will always happen. No other event (even events with probability 0) can possibly occur. If an event is almost sure, then other events are theoretically possible in a given sample space, however as the cardinality of the sample space increases, the probability of any other event asymptotically converges toward zero. Thus we can never definitively say for any sample space that other events will never occur, but we can in the general case assume this to be true. In this respect, the concept is similar to that of a mathematical limit.
All right. Love it. ;]
P.S. My research has a working title already: Modeling of Stochastic Interest Rates using Wiener and Ornstein-Uhlenbeck Processes. Wah. I want it changed. The title.

Woot. What a coincidence, Belle and Melisa. Really, what a coincidence. I miss you both. ;)

Math 199.2 schedule is still pending, but TTh 10:00-11:30 is the common time available for all of Dr. Escaner’s advisees. *sigh* Lots of free time for the undergraduate thesis. :D

UPDATED! School starts in a few days, and I’m so excited for a lot of things.
Firstly, because I’ll be starting in my undergraduate research. If all goes well, then Dr. Escaner will approve Credibility Theory as my topic and will be able to defend my research before the second term. I hope that the undergraduate colloquium falls exactly on September 27 so that I can greet Kuya Patrick a happy birthday in my presentation, just as he greeted me in his, last March.
For CSSC, school starts on Monday, a day earlier than usual. We will be inflating 1,000 blue and yellow balloons so that CS freshies would have something to wave (then pop.) during the university freshie assembly on Tuesday. CS pride!
I now have a real boarding house. Located somewhere in UP Village, it has all the amenities that I need, including a kitchen, a fridge, a bed, a closet, ironing area, receiving area, huge dining tables, and the sort. I felt so lucky that the last slot in the house was given to me, and I, soon, will be staying there. MUCH BETTER.
The one-way academic oval features a bike lane! I and Rubie liked the idea of biking around the campus, although I’m not sure if I can find time for it. However, I already devoted time jogging with new friends because of my obvious gain in weight. Well, if I can give time to jogging, then I should find time for biking as well.
This will be my last regular semester. I enrolled in 17 units of load, 2 of which is undergraduate research. For the second semester, I will be required to get only 6 units of load. However, I may still get additional subjects if I want.
The UP Mathematics Club will be holding a book sale at the iMath for two weeks starting June 10. I will be there often, but certainly be not the one to open the booth in the morning. :P
Yeah, this will be what my life will cover for the next five months. Mostly, CSSC + academics. No time for recreation of any kind, although ‘CSSC + academics’ could be considered recreation, especially the former.
