God gave a gift to the world when you were born; a person who loves and cares, who sees a person’s need and fills it, who encourages and lifts people up, who spends energy on others rather than herself, who touches each life she enters & makes a difference in the world. May the love you have shown to others return to you multiplied. May this birthday start a new turn in your world. May it also bring forth inevitable joy, happiness and favor your way.

Happy birthday, Janis Mae! We love you, bitch!

xoxo

2009 New Year’s Wish List

UPDATED! Last Christmas, I made a wish list for myself. Upon the new year, I thought of creating another list, but this time, for things I’d like my friends to have! Isn’t that spantastic?

Behold, my new year’s wish list for my very dear friends!

UP ARUGA

1. Janis: a copy of Skinny Bitch. She consistently contradicts herself with her views on physical beauty, so why not have a book that’ll shout out a consistent stand on it?

2. Izzay: a bridge, so she can get over it. Heehee. :D

3. Buddy Lenlen: a piping bag with lots of decorating tips. During our cupcake decorating contest, she showed exemplary skills in cake decorating, so more practice at home with her own decorating set would easily turn her into a cake diva.

4. JE: Bench Clay Doh, so he can maintain that hair of theirs.

5. Daniel: The Random House Book of Vegetables (Over 600 vegetables in superb colour). May this help you in seeking light in the world of greens!

6. Rubie: a Videoke machine. If you attended a previous Math Club apps’ party, you’d know why. Otherwise, please attend the next one scheduled on March-April.

7. Grace: A copy of Food Magazine’s Step-by-Step Cookbook Expanded Edition. I have my own copy of this and it really is so helpful in cooking, you’ll want to try each recipe. The instructions are easy to follow and have step-by-step pictures.

8. James: Full Grey’s Anatomy Series DVD. Wala lang, he seems to like it so much because he is such a hopeless romantic.

2008 Ender: Part Two

This is the second part of the hanging post on the summary of my 2008. Included here are more important details; meaning they’re more memorable.

I would love to create a third installment of this, but then there lots of other things worth doing than sitting in the corner and reminiscing the past months. Actually, I commenced another list – the top 10 pictures I loved – but after deciding on the first pic, I grew tired of it, having imagined looking for nine more. Wew! Enjoy these!

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

Dear all,

Christmas-2008-techno-hubIt is again that time of the year that we celebrate His birth with lots of joy and giving. From the bottom of my unbroken heart, I would like to take this moment and wish everyone a very merry Christmas!

This year for me personally has been one of the most challenging in my young life; I thank God that most of the time, I can turn to this site and release my energy into a creative outlet that reaches people. Things may get heated from time to time, but in the end we’re all here for one reason: to live for His glory.

Again, I wish everyone a merry Christmas. Just relax and linger through what this season brought us. Celebrate, navigate, or stay at home and spend some time with your family!

Love you guys,

Jodi Abesamis

Perhaps the best way to summarize my year is to enumerate the top things that happened to me; or at least the top things that I remember. It took me some time to come up with list, and recalling events for the past 12 months is fun!

I included (at the moment) five six different lists which reflect my year’s highlights. Each would have an entry of its own, making this entry lengthy. Sorry for that. I just hope you enjoy browsing through my year, and lemme know what you think. See them after the jump.

Back to Business

UPDATED! It is officially the end of Circus anticipation, and I’m back to my old blogging self.

I’ll keep this update short. And crisp.

1. Starting January, I’ll be transferring from UP Village to UP Area 3 (behind the Infirmary). Tita June (our landlady in UP Vill.) has a sudden family emergency, and his son finally decided to take up the excess space in their home, i.e. our boarding house, for his family. SHORT NOTICE. She said that we had to vacate the house before December 15. She didn’t leave us empty handed, however, and she made sure we had a place to go to. Her friend is starting the same lodging business and we would be her first set of boarders. I haven’t been to the new place yet, but my housemate says it’s cool (literally) and is huge, just like our present house. Alright. I prefer everything spacious, because I’m a very private guy. Perhaps I’d go home everyday on the 16th onwards, but my room mate says I can still stay at the new house even when I start paying for the January lodging.

It’s kinda sad to be leaving the old house already. I stayed there for only about 6 months. And there’s no arguing with its convenience and value. It’s three-minute-walk away from Philcoa, has no curfew, with cable television, nice shower, individual beds (I hate double decks!), individual closets, and lots of perks not available on usual lodgings. The only things I’d ever wish for was parking space, WiFi and aircon. But I survived without those (I already did for a year in KNL) and that they’re not really necessities. More so, everyone is so nice given that it was exclusive to male boarders and most are from Eng’g. Hehe. And Tita June is so motherly (having taught Home Economics in UPIS for years), often visiting us and sharing stories, inviting us to dinners when there are celebrations (none of those I was able to attend).

Guess I’ll miss it, too.

2. The CSSC+ENCM Leadership Summit flowed smoothly and I am so thankful for it. Thanks, ENCM! Hope you enjoyed our little gift of limited edition *exclusive* CS Silver merchandise as token of appeciation. Especially to Gaye, grabe, could’ve done this without you. :)

Carol Fest 2008 pushed through, too, though not as smoothly (but still successfully). Congratulations to the winners: 1st – MBB Star Activity, 2nd – PMHS Chorale, 3rd – Musical Atoms. I’m especially obliged to the Myusikal Matklab (MMK). Their rendition of “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas” gave me the chills and I so loved how they portrayed the meaning of the Christmas song. Love you guys! Congrats! Lalo na kay Badi Karlo! >: D< GJ!

3. Since everyone’s doing it, I’ll just join the bandwagon. I want a copy of Tales of Beetle the Bard! Here are some things that I’d like to have me this Christmas. And I’m not expecting anyone to give them. I dunno. Just want to post. If you’d be so kind to hand me some, I”d be more than thankful:

  • White Hoodie. Not the Siglo one, prolly Nike, or Adidas, or those you’d wear while jogging. Wala lang. I love wearing them nowadays, in class and on emergency biglaan dine outs. Medium size, do the estimation.
  • Tennis Racket. The ones for beginners. Because I’m beginning my private training this January!!  Yay Izzay for convincing me, and I’m looking forward to a Jodi-Izzay vs Daniel-JE match. Hahaha!
  • Circus Standard. I bought the Deluxe Edition, but I want to have each edition of this CD. Standard edition is not available locally.
  • Stunner Sunglasses. Because I can.
  • Good Girl Gone Bad Deluxe. Disturbia! It’s like the darkness is the light.

4. We had dinner this evening in Gilligan’s in Alabang. On the way home, my dad drove a new route only to end up with plastic MMDA thingies blocking the way. The MMDA guy told us that we cannot pass there but Dad insisted.

Dad: Sige na, nakikiusap lang. Nandito na kami eh.

MMDA Guy: Ako nga po, nakikiusap kasi bawal nga po dito.

Profound. Pakiusapan.

5. I am still not back on my acad mode. It has been like five weeks already since the start of class, but my mindset is still like back during sembreak, especially during weekends. Perhaps, all this *six-units-na-lang-required-ko* thing is still here and I’ll never study serious again until all my grades are crucial for my graduation. Huwag naman. Waaah! Need to be back in academic shape!

This weekend, I spent only about 20% of my free time studying. The remaining time was spent listening to Circus, and blog-hopping, and stalking, and chatting with a friend friends. Sheesh. To think that my exam is on Wednesday. Good luck.

6. Support the College of Science Chorale tomorrow at the University Carol Fest! Join the College of Science as we parade our lantern on the 17th! See y’all.
